The office of the Voluntary Blood Donors Association Nagaland (VBDAN) was opened today at Red Cross Building, Kohima. The new office was formally inaugurated by Atosheli Zhimomi, patron of VBDAN and wife of Y Akato Zhimomi, Kia Automobile and Vertex Construction as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Zhimomi said VBDAN is the only organization in the state that has been consistently effective in meeting the demand for blood among patients in need. The dedication and tireless efforts of the VBDAN in promoting voluntary blood donation are widely recognized across Nagaland, she said.
Many of its members have taken up blood donation as a personal mission, actively advocating for this life-saving cause, she said adding “Your selfless work is deeply appreciated by countless citizens.” To sustain this mission, we must encourage and enroll more volunteers to step forward and contribute to this cause, she said.
Journey of VBDAN was delivered by Alipoker, Founding President, VBDAN while short speech was delivered by Dr MC Longai Phom, Deputy Director, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima.
The function was chaired by Sentimongla Tzüdir, Managing Board Member while welcome address was delivered by Burakum, President, VBDAN. Vote of thanks proposed by Ainato Yeptho, chairman VBDAN.
