WAD expresses concern over increasing crime in Manipur

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 6 (MExN): The Women Action for Development (WAD) has expressed concern on the increasing crime in Manipur since the last two three months where a series of bomb blasts occurred in and around of Imphal City and in different District of Manipur.

 

A press release from the WAD said that the people of Manipur have been experiencing such type of brutal incidents when many innocent people were killed, deformed, terrorized etc. since many decades.

 

“At present despite of critical situation of Manipur due to never ending of the Naga peace talk which lead to the serious fear psychosis among the people of Manipur, such incidents created more and more apprehension what will happen in the next movement,” the WAD said.

 

It further pointed out that “in the name of controversial Naga peace talk huge numbers of paramilitary forces have already landed in the soil of our state but later on it is learnt that some of them have already left but some will never go back.”

 

“However we do not know the ground reality. People of Manipur want peace not war,” it stated, and appealed to the State Governor, Chief Minister and council of Ministers to critically analyse the situation. It also called for proper investigation with experts into the bomb blast incidents.

 

The WAD meanwhile expressed solidarity with the family of the bomb blast victims and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. It also appealed to all organization not to involve in such crimes.
