Wokha, May 3 (MExN): In commemoration of the 75th year of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (North East Festival 2022), the Wokha District administration in coordination with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports organized a walkathon from police point to PWD Junction, Tsumang colony and culminated at DC office Wokha on May 2. A DIPR report stated that the DC Wokha, Orenthung Lotha flagged off the programme. NCC cadets from GHSS Wokha, NSS volunteers from Bailey Baptist College, Mt Tiyi College, and NYKS took part in the walkathon.
In Dimapur, it was flagged off by EAC Dimapur Sadar, Nukshimatong. Two senior citizens, G Kami Rongmei and Yanbemo Humtsoe, aged 67 and 59 respectively, took part in the event, along with students from Christian HSS and Holy Cross HSS. The walkathon commenced from Circular Road (City Tower) via Tajen Ao Road with the finish point at the DC office junction.
Tseminyu District Administration in collaboration with the District Youth Resources & Sports Department jointly organized a marathon race on May 2. It was flagged off by DCTseminyu, Dr Zasekuolie Chusi, IAS. Nyinbemo Yanthan and Eunice Kent came first in their respective categoryies.
