MOKOKCHUNG, OCTOBER 20 (MExN): The Watsü Mungdang, Mokokchung today questioned the “silence and inaction” of the law enforcement authorities surrounding the “suspicious death” of a school boy from Ungma village in Dimapur on September 18.
A press release from the Watsü Mungdang, Mokokchung president, Maonginla and General Secretarym Moanaro informed that the deceased, a 15 year old student of GMS Aoyimti was “was declared to have committed suicide at the Aoyimti residence of the former DGP, Nagaland, O Alem where the boy was staying under the guardianship of the former.”
The Watsu Mungdang Mokokchung however stated that “when the victim’s body was examined by relatives, tell tale signs of physical trauma was evident as opposed to the suicide claim.”
“Circumstantial evidence point to foul play and the death made to look like a case of suicide,” it further alleged.
The Watsu Mungdang Mokokchung questioned the “suspicious nature in which the incident was swept under the carpet despite compelling evidence justifying police investigation as well as open declaration of the murder by different groups in the local dailies.” It meanwhile pointed out that the law enables the police to conduct investigation Suo Moto.
