Dimapur, December 8 (MExN): Reacting to the press release issued by the NSCN (IM) on December 5, the WC, NNPG today stated that the NPGN/NNC President Shoba Lakhum Yimchunger and Z Hozheto Chophy is a legitimate Naga Political Group, along with six others, involved in the ongoing political negotiations with Government of India.
In the press release, the NSCN (IM) acknowledged the NPGN/NNC (Non Accordist) President T Ovung pledging support to the August 3, 2015 Framework Agreement.
On the other hand, the WC today issued a press release stating that it has not come across any person by the name of T Ovung leading any Naga Political Organisation as part of the 7 NNPGs at any point of time. The release said, “On Nov. 27, 2017, A Preamble, also known as Agreed position, was signed between GOI and WC, NNPG. In all the Negotiations since, there is nobody called T Ovung representing NPGN/NNC at the table in New Delhi or at Dimapur.”
Terming Ovung as a “habitual defector being used by NSCN (IM),” the WC accused the former of indulging in “cheap propaganda.”
