•-It appears that almost the entire country is exasperated about the quality of leadership that Dr. Manmohan Singh is giving to his government. He gives an impression that not only he appears to be soft but also seems to be unconcerned about the state of the country .
What is most conspicuous is his near silence about every problem faced by the country and when he rarely talks , he expresses concern about the prevailing situation, about which every one of the Indians are concerned in helpless manner.
One wonders as to whether the country is paying too big a price for the inability of Dr. Manmohan Singh to face the issues and take firm actions with courage and conviction.
The net result of the situation is that every Chief Minister seems to be challenging the Central government and agitations are springing up in every corner of the country on one issue or the other. Koodankulam issue is an immediate example of Dr. Manmohan Singh’s approach to the issues.
The corruption, price rise, black money etc. etc etc. are the problems that Dr. Manmohan Singh is not tackling with the urgency that they deserve , for whatever reasons . Does Dr. Manmohan Singh know that the country men are concerned about his leadership?
Even today, many of the country men admire his performance as Finance Minister in P.V. Narasimha Rao’s cabinet and his personal honesty. But, is that enough?
