DIMAPUR, JULY 28 (MExN): One woman survived a bid on her life after her husband attacked her with a machete. The shocking incident occurred on Thursday, July 28th at Netaji Colony (Railway Bazar area) at around noon. The injured woman was identified as one Saptami Debnath 36 yrs. The attacker, her husband was identified as Sunil Debnath, who absconded after the attack. The shocking incident is believed to have been a fall out of a quarrel between the husband and wife. The injured woman was admitted to the district hospital with injuries to the head and leg. According to attendants at the hospital, the husband is said to have asked for money from his wife earlier in the morning citing he was going out. The wife complied with the demand and gave him Rs. 1000/-. However, he didn’t go out and stayed back. At around noon while his wife was cooking he grabbed a machete and attacked her and absconded. A case was registered at Women Cell Dimapur.
