Wokha: COVID-19 vaccination for frontline workers from Feb 8

1,994 FLWs registered, all health units activated for vaccination

Wokha, February 5 (MExN): COVID-19 vaccination for frontline workers (FLWs) in Wokha district will begin from February 8 from 9:00 am onwards.

This was informed by Dr Khelito Zhimomi, District Immunization Officer (DIO), Wokha informed during a meeting convened with the members of the District Task Force (DTF) for immunization at Deputy Commissioner official chamber on February 5 to discuss matters relating to vaccination of COVID-19 for the FLWs and Mission Indra Dhanush IMI 3.0.

According to the DIO, so far 1,994 FLWs under Wokha district have already registered for vaccination.

Dr Zhimomi also informed that vaccination for the frontline workers will be completed by the end of February. All the Health Care Centers and health care Units under Wokha district have been activated for administrating the vaccine, the DIO informed.

On February 8, Police personnel (DEF & 7th NAP), Home Guards and Revenue staff will be vaccinated and on February 9, the vaccine will be administered at 7th NAP Hospital Bhandari and NEEPCO hospital Doyang.

She also requested line departments to submit the list/ names of employees latest by February 7 and informed them to upload names of only those persons who are willing to take the vaccine.

The DIO also briefed the members about Mission Indra Dhanush IMI 3.0 which will commence from February 22. The purpose of the mission is to increase full immunization coverage for those who have missed any kind of immunization-left outs/ drop outs and resistant.

The targeted group for the mission includes pregnant women and children from 0-2 years, the DIO said.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Chairman DTF for COVID-19, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha urged all concerned to extend support for the successful implementation of the vaccination.
