Wokha, October 22 (MExN): The monthly District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on October 22 at Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Wokha. Chairman DPDM, Wokha and Advisor Horticulture Mhathung Yanthan also attended the meeting.
Reviewing the last meeting for adoption of villages, a DIPR report stated that ADC Wokha, Mhathung Tsanglao apprised the board members about the aims and objectives and action plan, where he stated that the objective is to develop the selected villages in an integrated manner which would include economic development, infrastructure development and other aspects of human development like education, health and drinking water supply.
He stated that the adoption plan is to inspire the rural communities to dream, plan, mobiles forces and resources for sustainable development of each member who can realize his/her full potential and create such ecosystem for positive behavioral transformation. To establish convergence models of resources, manpower to achieve comprehensive development in tune with people’s aspirations and potential. He also highlighted important interventions like individual, human, community, economic, area development and capacity building, rejuvenation of natural resources system through convergence of other schemes and documentation and reporting.
Chairman DPDB Wokha Advisor urged all departments to come up with specific and detail, action plan to bring about positive impact for the adopted villages. The chairman on behalf of DPDB Wokha thanked the Deputy Commission, Wokha Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon, IAS who is leaving the district on transfer for the positive contribution he had done for the district he also lauded the DC for the initiation and successful conduct of three elections during his tenure and bringing laurel for the district by winning two awards (BBBP) and further wished him success in his new responsibility.
During the meeting, the board approved the implementation committee members for LADP 2019-20 schemes under Wokha district, creation of Medical sub-Centre at New Changsu and old Koro village. Later the Chairman visited ITI complex and held a brief interaction with the officers and staff and the trainees.
Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection and Social Welfare department presented their departmental activities and programmes.
