Wokha, January 9 (MExN): The monthly District Planning and Development Board meeting was held on January 9 at Deputy Commissioner (DC) Conference hall. Vice Chairman & DC Wokha, Orenthung Lotha chaired the meeting.
As per DIPR report, during the meeting, the DC urged all departments in the district to extend cooperation and perform their assigned task with utmost sincerity for the forthcoming Republic Day celebration.
He further informed that distribution of works will be circulated shortly to all departments and informed all board members to come prepared with the action plan for deliberation of the four selected aspirational villages.
Additional Director, Women Resource Development, Kohima V Sakhrie who also attended the meeting enlightened the members about the various activities undertaken in the district by the department. Sakhrie said that the department focuses mainly on taking up women centric activities to promote socio-economic development and livelihood development for women.
He informed that the department was working on providing space for women entrepreneurs and conducting training and capacity building programmes for the female dropouts and for those who have completed their studies in order to create platform for self employment.
The DC while launching the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) calendar 2020, appealed to all the departments to support the successful implementation of various programmes and activities chalked out for the year 2020.
He also requested department of NST and District Transport office to present their departmental activities in the next DPDB meeting.
