Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): One Akashi, hailing from Saduki/Ahoa village under Dhansiripar sub-division has been alleged of attempting to murder her husband Mhonbemo Humtsoe, D.B, at their residence Lama Basti (Bor Lingri) on September 13, at 11:00 am. A press note issued by E.Y. Renthungo Humtsoe, chairman HUD alleged that the mother of five children, Akashi drugged her husband with sleeping pills and attempted to chop off his head with dao (machete) in pretext of pulling out grey hair from his head. The victim Mhonbemo Humtsoe managed to flee from the scene. He was seriously wounded and rushed to Metro Hospital, Dimapur and got admitted. The accused meanwhile was stated to have surrendered herself to the police station and requested to be locked up. Meanwhile, the Humtsoe Union Dimapur (HUD) in the note had vehemently condemned the murder attempt by Akashi on her husband, and further urges all sections of right thinking citizens to raise their voice and condemn such horrific in human act.
