Working Woman Expo to culminate today

Dimapur, December 19 (MExN): Visitors to the Working Woman Expo at Dimapur Government College grounds on Thursday were treated with an array of food, drink, arts and crafts-all locally made or created by women self-help groups of Dimapur.

Bringing together a good mix of women SHGs to showcase their products, a press release stated here that the three-day-long Expo was conceptualized to enable SHGs to build up their brands and provide an enhanced customer experience.

Kids of all ages and adults were seen busy tasting all the delicious local dishes, socialising, enjoying the festive music, and relaxing at the venue.

At sundown, as the stall owners started to pack up and rolled up their tents, weary but satisfied visitors stayed back to enjoy the “Centrestage” an evening of good music from local artistes, before heading home with their bags of goodies.

The expo is being organised by the Working Woman Project, a non-profit endeavour established with the aim to create self reliance among women from low income households in Dimapur. It will conclude on December 20.
