Kohima, September 12 (MExN): The Department of Industries & Commerce, in collaboration with the GeM User Facilitator, organized a workshop and training on GeM functionality at the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Kohima. The event took place at the Directorate’s Conference Hall on Wednesday.
The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) is an online platform established for the public procurement of goods and services commonly used by various departments, organizations, and public sector undertakings (PSUs). Launched by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on August 9, GeM aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and speed in public procurement processes.
Director of Industries & Commerce, P. Tokugha Sema, delivered the inaugural address, setting the stage for the technical session that followed. Supriti Priya, a GeM trainer and the event's main resource person, gave a presentation covering an overview of GeM, its benefits, and the registration and procurement processes involved.
The event concluded with an interactive discussion session.
