Dimapur, April 2 (MExN): The Common Visions Foundation for Children organised one-day workshop for teachers in collaboration with Keystone Education Society on ‘Inclusive Education’ at Stepping Stones School, Dimapur on April 1.

A press note received here stated that the workshop aimed at engendering values and beliefs on equality in order to make classrooms and schools inclusive. Attitudinal re-orientation towards rights-based approach of disability is beneficial for teachers to cater to a diverse range of students.

The workshop also included role plays, interactive activities and demos which generated discussion on ways to improve classroom interactions especially for children with special needs.

Keystone Education Society is an organisation whose primary aim is to provide comprehensive special educational needs (SEN) support to schools that are committed to transforming their institutions into holistically inclusive environments of learning, where all types of learners are recognized, valued and provided with the appropriate supports needed to be successful. The organization is driven by the belief that diverse learning needs require differentiated ways of teaching and assessment of learning, which ultimately lead to providing equal opportunities for every student.
