Peren, November 20 (MExN): Observing the World Diabetes Day, a one day Free Health Screening Camp was held at Jalukie Town Baptist Church on November 18 with the theme ‘The Family & Diabetes.’ The camp targeted the church congregation thus; the camp was conducted after the church services. There were a total of 655 participants approx.
Pezanguno Celine Secü, District Media Officer, CMO Office, Peren in a press release stated that attending the Sunday service, Dr. Supongmenla, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Peren, gave a health talk on Diabetes. She also highlighted and briefed about the purpose and objective of the camp. She added saying that the main aim of the camp is to promote healthy living and the risk factors and the expected outcome is to make the community aware and also intensify information on Diabetes and to develop health seeking behavior.
A total of 74 patients were screened for Blood sugar and Blood Pressure.. Out of which 7persons were suspected with diabetes and 17 hypertension cases.
