DIMAPUR, JULY 2 (MExN): In connection to the attack on Inavi village on June 30 which resulted in killing two people – a GB and council chairman, and critically injuring two others, the general body of Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) held a meeting on July 2 and unanimously resolved the following. According to a press note issued by LK Achumi, President and Vikato Shikhu General Secretary of the WSH it decided not to accept the special committee constituted by government of Nagaland to probe the attack on Inavi village stating that “it will not serve any purpose”. The meeting also resolved that Hoho shall not accept the ex-gratia payment of Rs. 1 lakh each to the deceased and Rs. 50,000 each to those injured announced by Nagaland government.
Demand immediate withdrawal of IRB personnel posted at Beisimpuikam and Jalukielo village
The WSH resolution also demanded immediate withdrawal of IRB personnel posted at Beisimpuikam village and Jalukielo village. It “strongly demands that the government of Nagaland must apprehend those involved in the attack on Inavi village on June 30 and killing of two village elders and seriously two others within a period of 15 days time failing which the government shall bear the responsible for any untoward situation arising out of government’s failure”, the resolution stated.
The hoho also demanded from the government to inform the WSH about the disappearance of the dead body of Lt. Inashe, council chairman, Inavi village who was killed during the attack. Likewise the WSH demanded that the commission report of inter-district boundary between Dimapur and Peren which has been kept pending before the cabinet be taken up on priority basis at the earliest. The WSH also strongly demanded from the government that the war gates erected at the both end of Beisimpuikam village, be removed immediately and failing which the Hoho would pursue with its own course of action to remove the said gates.
