Y Patton and others mourn demise of Z Katiry

Dimapur, October 25 (MExN): Deputy Chief Minister and Nagaland BLP leader, Y Patton along with other political leaders today mourned the demise of Z Katiry, Ex MLA and Member, NPCC who passed away on October 25 after a brief illness, at Naga Hospital Kohima.


Z Katiry was the first NCS officer among the Pochury community and he was elected to the 8th NLA. He was also the first President of Pochury Public Forum and also served as President of Pochury Student's Union, read a condolence message from media cell, Deputy CMO. “Katiry was an energetic and visionary leader and above all a cheerful human being. His passing away is a great loss for the Naga society,” the message added. At this hour of grief and sorrow, Patton on behalf of the BJP legislators extended deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to find eternal peace.


Neiba Kronu: Nagaland Planning & Co-ordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Neiba Kronu in a condolence message stated that he was the first graduate among the Pochury tribe. “Today we have lost a loyal, honest and dynamic leader who was an inspiration to his colleagues and the society.” The Minister conveyed deepest condolence to the bereaved family at this moment of grief.


K Therie: NPCC President, K Therie said that he had a long association with him since 1964 in schools at Kohima. He was a brilliant student and after graduation, he was recruited as CO and later retired as SDO(C) after which he joined politics, a condolence message stated. “In the political arena, he served his people well through persistence, hard work and commitment. He was sincere in the endeavor for the peoples’ welfare,” the message added. While the vacuum created by his demise cannot be filled, NPCC shall fondly remember his valuable contributions not only to the party but also to his people and to society in general, Therie stated. He along with all rank and file of NPCC conveyed deepest condolence to his bereaved wife, children and family members. It prayed that the Almighty God comfort and console them at this hour. 


Sharingain Longkumer: Deputy Speaker, NLA Sharingain Longkumer in a separate condolence message stated that before entering into politics, he worked as Headmaster in private Middle English School at Phor and Akhegwo village, served as Extra Assistant Commissioner, President Pochury Public Forum and Member of Nagaland Peace Council. He was 63 and is survived by his wife, five sons and one daughter. “He was a dynamic leader and on his death, the State has lost a statesman and the vacuum left will be hard to fill.” Longkumer on behalf of the NLA and on his own behalf conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.


KG Kenye: Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) KG Kenye expressed sadness to learn about the demise and extended his condolence to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to find eternal rest.
