YAA asks head of departments to revert ‘political attachments’

Shamator, October 16 (MExN): Taking note of truancy among government employees, the Yimkhiung Akherü Arihako (YAA) has informed all Heads of Departments to immediately revert all ‘political attachments’ and ensure that the employees report to their original places of posting.

“This has been necessitated taking in cognizance of the fact that some individuals are clandestinely pursuing for relocation of post/attachments without any regard to the Government notification, either through political attachments or due to some extraneous reasons,” YAA President Achung Jangleh and General Secretary Donan S Yimkhiung stated in a press release on Saturday.

“Henceforth, no employee should be granted attachments under any circumstances,” it said, adding that such practices adversely affect the smooth functioning of offices and institutions causing a shortfall of officers and staffs.

Referring to a government notification issued on January 9, 2009 pertaining to transfer of government employees, the YAA also reiterated that transferring of government employees along with the incumbent or without reliever of equivalent post or rank shall not be permitted in the entire Yimkhiung jurisdiction under any circumstances. In the case of any ‘unwanted fallout’ the HoD of the concerned department would be held responsible, it added.

Further, the YAA directed all government teachers who are undergoing professional courses duly permitted by the state Department of School Education, to submit a photocopy of the permission order or admission receipt in their respective schools without delay. Failure to produce the same shall be construed as truancy and the YAA shall not own responsibility in case of any eventuality that may arise due to willful dereliction of official duty as government servant, it added.

In this regard, it requested all School Management Committees (SMCs) to remain vigilant and endorse the constituent units of YAA to conduct uninformed inspection in their respective jurisdictions. If any lapses are detected, the same may be reported to the YAA office for onward submission to the higher authority for appropriate action, the release stated.
