ZBCK 75th anniversary celebrates ‘Hope in Christ’

Rev Kuzerang Thou along with pastors, deacons and elders of Zeme Baptist Church Kohima after dedicating the 75th Anniversary monolith at the church compound on February 9. 

Kohima, February 9 (MExN): Zeme Baptist Church Kohima (ZBCK) celebrated its 75th anniversary with the theme ‘Celebrating our hope in Christ’ at Zeme Baptist Church, Midland, Kohima from February 7 to 9.

According to a press release, “the fellowship started in 1945 with a number of Zeliangs living in Kohima and which later became one of the member-church in Zeme Church Council (ZBCC), Peren.”

Some of the prominent believers who founded the fellowship and left behind a wonderful legacy for the younger generation were Charovi, Heimbailakpe, Nheubuing, Ilamding, Heihingcube, Heisapleung, Ago, H K Lungalang and L T Levi. The present Church site was allotted to the Zeliang community in 1979 and whereby a small church building was constructed and dedicated to the Lord by Rev H K Lungalang.

“The present standing Church building was also dedicated by Rev HK Lungalang in 1995 coinciding with the Golden Jubilee of the establishment of the Church,” the press release stated.

The three day celebration began with children’s J.A.M (Jesus and Me) program followed by ‘celebrating oneness in Christ’ with the Langmai Baptist Church Kohima.  Rev Kuzerang Thou unveiled and dedicated the 75th Anniversary monolith and former pastor ZBK Rev Kulungsing Meru released the souvenir. Executive Secretary ZBCC Izieteilung Terieng and Pastor LBC N Silubo Zeliang delivered the message to the believers during the celebration.
