Peren, January 13 (MExN): The Zeme Baptist Church Council Youth Department (ZBCC YD) celebrated its 50th annual and triennial cum golden jubilee from January 10 to 12 at Peren town under the theme ‘Growing in the knowledge of God (Col 1 :10).’
The programme culminated with the golden jubilee devotional worship service where Dr Rampaukopoing Michui, Youth Secretary gave the keynote address followed by “Jubilee Indigenous” celebration.
The golden jubilee began with a processional march from Main town to the Mission Centre for the golden jubilee monolith dedication. The monolith dedication programme was led by pastor Heikwetgong Putlang Ex President ZBCC YD and the dedicatory act was ministered by Rev Suitei Ndang, President, ZBCC.
Jalukie town local Baptist church choir and the jubilee choir presented the special number. The worship service was led by Irui Kenn, Ex Youth Secretary and Rev Vikuo Rhi, NBCC youth Secretary delivered the greetings.
Rev Iringtie Kauring, Pastor Kohima Zeme Baptist Church was the speaker of the jubilee celebration service. Commemorating the anniversary a souvenir was published which was dedicated by Rev Kulungsing Meru.
Around 1000 youths from 57 churches attended the celebration and 50 members jubilee choir enthralled the gathering with special numbers in all the service. Choir competition on the jubilee anthem was also conducted where 14 churches participated. A special youth extravaganza was also held where different talents were showcased.
The celebration concluded with the traditional bon fire led by Jalukie B Baptist church.
