Zhavame Students’ Union held its 60th general session at Public Amphitheatre, Pame Tsüdü on December 27 and 28.
Zhavame, December 30 (MExN): The Zhavame Students’ Union (ZSU) held its 60th general session on December 27 and 28 at Public Amphitheatre, Pame Tsüdü under the theme “Skill Development and Career.”
The session was graced by Lieut Colonel Shashi Rhi, Jt Director Signal Intelligent Directorate Army Headquarter, Delhi as the special guest, Mosonyi Domeh, Vice President, All India Tradition Wrestling Association as the introductory guest, Rekha Rose Dukru, Entrepreneur, as valedictory speaker and Rosou Rhi, President Nagaland Designers Association the special guest for the 7th Talent Night.
‘Without self discipline, success is impossible’
The ZSU held its introductory session cum sports meet on December 27, at Zhavame Village Local Ground, under the Theme “Self Discipline”.
Mosonyi Domeh, Vice President, All India Tradition Wrestling Association graced as the Introductory Guest. Addressing the student community, he reminded them to have a competitive spirits and not just for the sake of studying which will lead to frustration. He encouraged the young students to explore different professions with determination, hard work and self discipline. These three principles should go hand in hand to become successful in life. He said that “without self discipline, success is impossible” and success cannot be borrowed from anyone.
Sanyi Shupao, Head GB Zhavame exhorted the students community to promote unity in village and among students community and also encouraged to pursue sports with true sportsmanship and avoid intoxication.
ZSU first Open Marathon rally
The ZSU conducted the first Open Marathon rally on December 27 under the theme “Cleaner Zhavame” where 8 girls and 15 boys participate. Thango Shupao and Liavirhü Movi were declared the winners in men’s and women’s category respectively.
The session was enthralled by Thekevi Pohena, Chief Instructors Shaolin Kung-Fu, Nagaland and Thejangulie Pohena, Black Belt, with their Shaolin Kung-Fu skills. Gentle Breeze (Senapati) also enthralled the cotangents with a title “Waka Waka its time for Zhavame’.
Rosho Dukru, Games & Sports Secy. administered the oath taking for the contingents of the first ZSU Sports Meet 2019. Football for gents and volleyball for ladies was organized.
Pastor CRC Zhavame, Ngopi Pohena invoked God’s blessing for the session, Virhülü Domeh Representative CSU delivered the welcome address, Bunyi Krocha Asst. General Secy. proposed the words of gratitude. Pulu Movi and Molirhü Dukru, compered the session and Dakhru Rhi Assoc. Pastor, CRC Zhavame said the closing prayer.
‘Be self motivated and do smart studies’
Addressing the inaugural session as special guest, Lieut Colonel Shashi Rhi emphasized on the fast changing society, literacy rate and job opportunities. He encouraged the students to be self motivated and do smart studies. He advised them not to forget the struggles and sacrifices made by the parents for their education.
He urged the students to move out form their comfort zone and become more generic in knowledge with competitive spirits. He points out that many of the central jobs for ST goes vacant due to ignorance and laziness. The Lieut Colonel also called upon the gathering to look for different profession like government sector, private sector, entrepreneurship etc, not only in state so as not to blame the government for unemployment but to look for alternative and prepared accordingly.
Chakhesang Students’ Union, President, Lavoto Chizo, in his greeting reminded about the diversity of dialect in Chakhesang community. He appealed to the people of Zhavame to stay united and keep up the hard work, sincerity and to build the bond of oneness as Chakhesang.
The presidential address was delivered by Visapa Movi President ZSU, Rokovi Movi the General Secy. ZSU give secretary report for the tenure 2018-2019. The newly nominated office bearers for the tenure 2020-2021 was declared by Jonah Domeh Convener nomination committee and Rev. Akha Shupao, Pastor Zhavame Baptist Church administered the act of blessing.
The first “Deo Theodore Dukru Memorial Award” Best Performing Teacher was awarded to Neisakuo Pohena. The Gentle Breeze (Sanapati District) entertained the gathering with “Lets Live as One”. S. John Krocha Catechist St. Xavier Catholic Church Zhavame invoked God’s blessing, indigenous tune was presented by the Zhavame Women Society. The session was chaired by Jonah Domeh Advisor ZSU, where Muvi Domeh and Livi Shupao compared the session.
Students told not to become ‘educated burden’
The valedictory session was held under the Theme “Self Reliance” with Rekha Rose Dukru Entrepreneur grace as the speaker. Reminding that human wants are unlimited and we can do everything, she encouraged the student community to make use of talent and make a living. “We live in most thrilling and exciting time, to keep update with different issues and filled with knowledge so as to become self reliance.” She challenged the youngster not to depend on parents but to do away with laziness and become responsible person in life and challenged the students not to become educated burden for a society.
All together 12 students participated the extempore speech, Youth director ZBC Litsüvi Domeh said the invocation. Lisü Nukhu entertained the gathering. Thorhü Movi Finance Secy. ZSU delivered the words of thanks. The session was compered by Rhuvi Domeh and Morevine Krocha while Apao Dukru President ZCYA said the closing prayer.
7th Talent Night
The ZSU 7th Talent Night was graced by Rosou Rhi, President, Nagaland Designer Association as the guest. Addressing the gathering, he encouraged the students to build self confidence and explored their talents on different profession. The talent night featured Gentle Breeze (Senapati) and Athe Rhi as the special appearance, with others 17 participants. Modovi Krocha and Sütalü Dukru was the host while Jonah Domeh said the closing prayer.
