Zunheboto, February 7 (MExN): District Task Force Meeting- National De-worming Day, Zunheboto was held on February 6 at DCs Chamber, Zunheboto.


A press release issued by Shekho Sophie, District Media Officer, Chief Medical Officer Office Zunheboto stated that Deputy Commissioner, Zunheboto Peter Lichamo chaired the meeting and in his welcome note, encouraged and motivated the participants to take special initiative. Dr Akaho Sema, Dy CMO, Zunheboto gave a brief note on National De-worming Day and seek support from Social Welfare and Education department.


Dr Alemwabang Aier, DPO (RCH & UIP) highlighted about National De-worming Day. He said along with the rest of the country Zunheboto will be observing National De-Worming Day on February 10 and mop up day on February 17.

He briefed that all schools and Anganwadi centers will be the implementation sites on NDD, with the objective to improve the overall health, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life of children. He also said the programme is for Children between 1-19 years of age where Albendazole chewable tablet will be provided. The programme will be conducted by AWWs/Teachers and also by the Medical Officers, RBSK team, Nurses and ASHAs of the district. 


Dr Alemwabang also highlighted about the problems and constraints.
The first DTF-NDD meeting was attended by DC, Social Welfare department, Education department, STH, Dy CMO, DPO (RCH &UIP), MO- RBSK, Epidemiologist IDSP, UIP staff's and IEC bureau Zunheboto.
