ZTTLMC serves ultimatum to NHIDCL, contractors
Zunheboto, November 10 (MExN): The Zunheboto Town Two Lane Monitoring Committee (ZTTLMC) on Wednesday served an ultimatum to the NHIDCL, Madhucon and contractors to start works for road widening at the Zunheboto town area before November 13.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the Committee informed that it was formed on April 30, 2021 by the Zunheboto based civil societies to assist and supervise the ongoing Two Lane construction at Zunheboto Town.
In a joint meeting held on June 10 earlier this year, it was resolved that the district administration, Sumi Hoho, Sumi Gazetted Officers Union Zunheboto, NHIDCL, Madhucon, Contractors and ZTTLMC would be the stakeholders for re-marking for the road widening at the town area.
As per the resolution, the stakeholders remarked the road and sites on June 11 and 12, and the re-marking report was officially approved on June 17 in the presence of Advisor, School Education K T Sukhalu at the residence of the Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, the Committee informed.
The Company had given a verbal assurance that the work within Town area shall be completed before March 2022. “However, the company and the Contractors failed to comply with the Re-Marking reports as per the resolution, it highlighted.
In this context, the ZTTLMC convened a meeting with the NHIDCL, Madhucon and Contractors on August 12 and 16 at the Town Council Office. During the meetings, “the members agreed and resolved that the drain work, which was constructed earlier from BOC area up to Late Dr Nihoshe Buildings be demolished also, land dressing shall be made as per the Remarking Report.”
Further, it was resolved that the land dressing will be made at the sharp turning point opposite NCRC Church at DC Hill Colony and the retaining wall shall be constructed, the Committee stated.
The ZTTLMC mentioned that more than 15 meetings have been convened with follow up resolutions for the ongoing construction work and that accordingly, the ZTTLMC have given their full support for the completion of the works at the earliest.
“However, the NHIDCL, Madhucon and the Contractors has taken a U-Turn to the resolutions assured,” it alleged, terming it as a clear suppression and disregard for the joint resolutions.
Subsequently, the Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto convened a meeting on November 1 at his conference hall in the presence of the administrative officers Zunheboto, ADC Satakha, Additional SP Zunheboto, President Sumi Hoho, ZTTLMC, GM of NHIDCL and colleagues, Madhucon Company and Contractors.
The meeting resolved that the construction will continue as per the previous resolutions. On the same day, as per the meeting, the CM of NHIDCL, Madhucon and Contractors along with the ZTTLMC undertook the spot verification.
“However, on the spot, the NHIDCL, Madhucon and Contractors failed to abide with the meeting minute,” the Committee stated.
In this regard, the ZTTLMC has cautioned that, failing to start the work as per the re-marking report on or before November 13, it would be left with no option but to undergo its own course of action, for which the Company and the Contractors would be held responsible.
