Dimapur, September 18 (MExN): The new 200-bedded hospital at the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) Dimapur is likely to be inaugurated in the first week of October.

Stating this during his first inspection visit to the construction site on Saturday, Nagaland Chief Secretary J Alam expressed optimism that the project would be completed within a month and become operational by the month of October, according to a report from the state DIPR.

The Chief Secretary is said to have expressed satisfaction with the progress of the project which began earlier in June this year, and also gave a brief outline on how the project was initiated in the State war room during the peak of the second COVID wave. He also lauded the team and the implementing agencies for delivering their best, the report stated.

The DIPR stated that the Chief Secretary was “impressed at the availability of resources and facilities” and remarked that CIHSR had a dedicated team led by Dr Sedevi. With the available facilities, the CIHSR can be compared with the other hospitals in the cities, he added.

He was accompanied by the State Health Secretary, Principal Director Health And Family Welfare, Chief Engineer (Housing), NSDMA Johnny Rongmei, Sanjay Jaiswal, Project In-Charge Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur Chief Medical Officer, and officials from Glocal Company, according to the DIPR.
