The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) on November 3 organised an outreach and preview of ELECRAMA 2027 in Nagaland capital Kohima, bringing together regional stakeholders to highlight advancements in electrical infrastructure, technological innovation and the evolving power sector.
IEEMA is gearing up to host the 17th edition of ELECRAMA 2027, its flagship event for the global electrical industry, scheduled from February 20 to 24, 2027, at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, Delhi NCR.
With the theme “Harnessing the Power of ‘I’”, this edition is poised to set new benchmarks, featuring over 1,100 exhibitors, attracting 500,000 footfalls, facilitating more than 25,000 B2B meetings, welcoming over 500 hosted buyers and showcasing more than 10 country pavilions.
Speaking at the preview held at Hotel De Oriental Grand, Kohima, KG Kenye, Nagaland Minister for Power & Parliamentary Affairs, said that for nearly seven decades, IEEMA had stood firmly with the nation through every change. He said businesses must act as a powerful force for integration, just as trade had historically connected regions, and business bodies could link the Northeast with the rest of the country.
He said business houses needed to step forward and create opportunities for the State’s literate and talented youth so their potential could be constructively harnessed.

He lauded IEEMA for working to strengthen the country’s economy and thanked the association for expanding its presence in the eastern part of the country.
Kenye urged business houses to invest in Nagaland and said the State would participate in ELECRAMA 2027.
Principal Secretary, Department of Power, KD Vizo, meanwhile, noted that as the State undertakes major distribution-sector reforms, it presents significant investment opportunities across hydro and solar power generation, transmission networks, battery storage, smart metering and distribution systems.
Speaking about the power sector in the Northeast, he said there were considerable investment opportunities, including the expansion of transmission lines at 220 kV, 132 kV, 32 kV and 33 kV, as well as in distribution, smart meters and electronic systems.
He said it was time for investors and manufacturers to come forward and invest in Nagaland.
Arjun Deb, Vice Chairman, IEEMA Eastern Region, said the Kohima preview offered a glimpse of what awaited the world from February 20 to 24, 2027, when ELECRAMA, described as the world’s largest electrical show, returns for its 17th edition.
As India continues to strengthen its electrical infrastructure and advance its energy transition, ELECRAMA remains an important platform for bringing together industry stakeholders, showcasing technological advancements and fostering collaboration.
The Kohima preview marks an important step in extending this engagement across regions and building anticipation for ELECRAMA 2027.
A presentation on ELECRAMA 2027 was made by Nilankha Chaliha, State Head (North East), IEEMA.
