Kohima, September 23 (MExN): The 29th Batch Veterinary Field Assistant (VFA) trainees orientation cum freshers day for the session 2024-2026 was held on September 20 at Veterinary Field Assistant Training Institute (VFATI), Medziphema.

Gracing the occasion as the special guest, Kazheto Kinimi, Advisor for Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, said that animal Husbandry practices have been playing a very vital role in supplementing the family income and generating employment to the rural poor from past many decades.

He advised the students to take the opportunity through this course by learning and equipping themselves to be good entrepreneurs and self reliant and not just depend on government job.

The advisor and Dr Achila Ao, Director, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services along with the department officials visited all the farms and advised the farm manager and staff to sincerely work for improvement of their farms activities.

Delivering short speech, Dr Achila encouraged the students to work hard & develop both individually and professionally to meet the challenges in the field and be an asset to Animal Husbandry sector.

The programme was chaired by Dr Doreen Peseyie, Vice Principal VFATI while Dr H Inato Jimomi, Principal VFATI delivered welcome address and highlighted the activities of VFATI through a representation submitted to the advisor.
