Bringing huge sigh of relief, the test results of the three passengers from the Shramik special train from Chennai have all tested negative.

Informing this, a health official said their samples were collected on Friday itself, as they had shown some symptoms. He further informed that more sample collections are being done today. As for the three passengers who are currently under quarantine after they arrived last evening, it was informed that further necessary test will be done after observing their conditions.

“By the grace of God we don’t have any positive cases as of now, however, let us be prepared for positive cases,” said the official citing a corona positive case in Sikkim where the control measures are stricter and tighter than any other northeastern states.

This advice “to be prepared for positive cases” comes against the fact that more samples collection and tests of the returnees are to be done in the next few days.

Nonetheless, the officials assured that the Health and Family Welfare Department is ‘completely prepared’ for anything.
