333 ILP defaulters detected in Kohima

KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 12 (MExN): Three teams consisting of Kohima District Administration and Police today carried out a day long Inner Line Permit (ILP) verification drive in and around Kohima town.

During the verification drive, cases of ILP with expiry date and some without valid pass were detected and accordingly penalties were imposed as per section (2), (3) and (4) of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation (BEFR), 1873. 

A total of 333 ILP defaulters were detected and a total amount of Rs.77,490 was collected as penalty which will be deposited as Government revenue. The Special Task Force constituted for ILP verification will be conducting periodic checking for detection of illegal immigrants and ILP defaulters, informed a press release from the Kohima district administration.

The verification drive was carried out in pursuance to the direction received from the Home Department, Political Branch, Government of Nagaland and as per the direction issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima.
