8 test COVID-19 positive from random sampling in Longleng

Longleng, May 14 (MExN): Random sample testing was carried out at Longleng town by the Medical department under the purview of the District Task Force, Longleng on May 11 and 12. The sample testing was conducted on persons in High Risk Groups which included shopkeepers, restaurant/hotels, porter/day labourers, vehicles/workshops, bus/taxis operator/drivers and pharmacies, according to a DIPR report.

A total of 80 random samples were collected, out of which eight tested COVID-19 positive. Accordingly, individuals who tested positive were given medical advisories with regard to home isolation.

Further, the general public has been informed to contact DTF Longleng helpline number 7630968122 for any COVID-19 and lockdown related information.

DC’s office sealed
Meanwhile, in view of the detection of COVID-19 positive case at Deputy Commissioner's office, Longleng, the office building has been declared as ‘Sealed Area’ for a period of 48 hours with immediate effect in order to control and contain the spread of the disease/ infection and for necessary contact tracing.

All movement of persons in the Sealed Area is strictly prohibited and shall remain under strict surveillance with immediate effect until further notice.
