Dimapur, November 24 (MExN): The ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) under SBI Foundation-Gram Seva Programme-organised “Three days Skill Development Training on Local Food Processing & Preservation” following an integrated peer-to-peer learning process in all 5 adopted villages of SBI Foundation. 

A press release informed that first stage training was delivered by convergence Officer Imnayangla Jamir (AIDA- SBI GS staff) with support of Pfokho John (Program Manager) and Ms Kt Khino Anal (Livelihood Officer) at Tsithrongse Village for Gram Sevaks, Remedial teachers and some SHG representatives. Altogether, 15 participants attended the training. 

The training was organized with objectives to provide skilling and trainings to rural community to ensure better livelihood opportunities and to encourage self-employment by promoting small, cottage & local industries and to empower rural women through SHGs model, it informed. 

After the training, the Gram Sevaks will initiate the process in their respective villages for the SHGs while on final day, all the SHGs will carry out demonstration session, it said. 

 The products made on the final day will be given as take away not to just share the knowledge but to know its acceptability among the community, it added. 

The power of Digitalization i.e. use of Internet and YouTube video for learning will be carried out and the 15 representatives will train SHGs at their respective villages namely Urra, Bade, Tsithrongse, Diezephe & Khriezephe. 

At the training, dedicated Training and demonstration on making Rosella Jam, Rosella Tea, Blue pea tea, Naga King Chilly pickle, Ginger candies and Gooseberry candies were given by AIDA staff, Dimapur. 

As an interactive session, the instructor augmented the learning by answering the doubts from the participants throughout the sessions and participants were also highlighted on the medicinal values of Rosella (Hibiscus Sabdariffa) plants, Blue pea (Clitoria ternatea) flower, ginger and Gooseberry, the release said.
