AKM demands action against absent teachers

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 11 (MExN): The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has informed that despite directives from the government and several student organizations, a majority of teachers have still not reported to their posting locations in Mokokchung district.

A press release from the AKM pointed out that the Directorate of School Education, Government of Nagaland had issued the rationalization/re-deployment order of teachers in two different notices, dated October 26 and November 1 with respect to Mokokchung district and the teachers were instructed to report to their new posting location within seven days from the date of the order’s issuance.

The AKM questioned the concerned department what actions have been taken in regards to the teachers who have not yet reported for duty and what other steps need to be taken in this regard.

“The negligence of both the teachers and the government is affecting the life and future of thousands of students in the district. Such non-compliance of orders and leniency of the government also reflects the state of affair in the state,” it said.

The AKM, therefore, demanded that the concerned department look into the matter with utmost urgency so that the students are not left without education when an academic year is almost coming to a close.
