ANTA office vandalisation: Kohima Police announces cash rewards for info

Kohima, June 20 (MExN): The Kohima Police today announced a reward of Rs 25,000 to members of general public providing any information leading to identity or arrest of the “unknown miscreants” that vandalised the All Nagaland Taxi Assciaiton Office (ANTA) Headqauter Office in Kohima on June 17. 

Additionally, the police also informed that a cash reward of Rs 10,000 will be paid for any information leading to recovery of the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) which was taken away by the miscreants from ANTA Office.

The identity of the informant shall be kept confidential, stated a press release issued by the PRO, Kohima Police.

Giving a further details of the incident, the PRO’s release informed that information was received by Kohima Police that ANTA Office located at Old NST area was vandalised by unknown miscreants on June 17. 

Accordingly, a case was registered at North Police Station for investigation and during the preliminary investigation, one suspect individual was arrested and forwarded to judicial custody, it said.  

Further, it was ascertained during the investigation that some miscreants had come to the ANTA office and one of them entered the “chamber of the general secretary and threatened him at gunpoint.”

The police also discovered that assailants also took away the memory device called Digital Video Recorder (DVR) used to store the data from the CCTVs installed at the office

The police is working on various human leads and technical data to ascertain and apprehend the culprits, the release added, while announcing the various rewards for information. 

Meanwhile, the Kohima Police stated that following the intensified anti-extortion drive by Kohima Police, three more individuals from a Naga Political Group has been arrested o June 20. 

In this regard, a separate probe has also been initiated to ascertain any possible involvement of the arrested persons in this case, it added.
