
Kohima, March 24 (MExN): Most Rev Leopoldo Girelli, the Apostolic Nuncio to India & Nepal (Vatican Ambassador) is scheduled to visit Nagaland from March 26 to 29. He is expected to arrive on March 26 in Dimapur and will proceed to Kohima. In Kohima, he will be the main celebrant for the Holy Eucharist at the Cathedral, on March 27 at 10.00 am. He will also visit some places in and around Kohima, like the World War II Cemetery, Kisama Heritage Village, and address the students of St. Joseph College (Autonomous) Jakhama and interact with Catholic leaders.
On March 28 he will attend the first Convocation of St Joseph University, Ikishe Model village, Chümoukedima along with other public leaders and University officials and deliver the Presidential address. He will bless the Newman Pastoral Centre at St. Joseph Parish Campus, Chümoukedima and also address the Students of Good Shepherd Seminary and Salesian College, Dimapur and meet Catholic leaders at Holy Cross Parish, Dimapur. On March 29, before leaving he would be the main celebrant at the Holy Eucharistic celebration at the newly built Mt. Carmel Church, Chekiye village.
The last Nuncio to visit Nagaland was Most Rev. Salvatore Pennacchio in 2011 for the Episcopal ordination of Most Rev Dr James Thoppil, the Bishop of Kohima.
