Battalions of the IGAR (N) celebrated the International Day of Yoga across the State on June 21.
KOHIMA, JUNE 21 (MExN): Battalions of HQ IGAR (N) celebrated the 6th International Day of Yoga on June 21.
A press release from the PRO, HQ IGAR (N) informed that a brief on the significance of Yoga Day was also covered wherein it was emphasized that the age old practice of Yoga is the way ahead even for security forces, to develop mental strength and physical fitness, as also to ensure a healthy and stress-free environment.
Battalions of Headquarters 5 Sector Assam Rifles celebrated the 6th International Day of Yoga with the theme ‘My Life My Yoga’.
Troops and families of Assam Rifles practiced various Yoga exercises and Asanas in their homes and place of living following strict social distancing norms. 1068 personnel comprising all ranks from various Battalion Headquarters and Company Operating Bases, 49 families and 56 children participated and derived maximum benefits.
Battalions of Headquarters 6 Sector Assam Rifles celebrated the day with the objective of improving health and well-being of troops including families and children.
The Theme of ‘Yoga at home’ and ‘Yoga with family’ was followed by all participants who practiced Yoga in their respective barracks and family quarters. A total of 2000 personnel, 500 families and 150 children participated in the event which was organized as a mix of collective as well as at home.
Meanwhile, battalions of Headquarters 7 Sector Assam Rifles observed the Yoga Day keeping in line with the national efforts to promote yoga for healthy living.
The exercise was organized in barracks, posts and in quarters. A total of 2750 to include personnel’s, families and children participated in the yoga sessions.
