The first batch of passengers from one of the special passenger trains being arranged by the Government of India will de-board in Dimapur in the early hours of May 14.

Railway sources informed that about 15 passengers will step down from the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani train which is scheduled to reach the Dimapur Railway Station at around 1:30 am on May 13. The timing may vary in case of delays.

 

Meanwhile the State Government has set up booths to receive the passengers at the station’s compound, with buses on standby to transport the passengers to quarantine facilities.

The Delhi-Dibrugarh train is one of two special passenger trains for the North East, with the other one being the Rajdhani Delhi- Agartala train which will begin service on May 18.   

 

The State Government had on May 12 decided that asymptomatic passengers arriving from green and orange zones would be put under institutional quarantine for 3 days following which they will proceed for 12 days home quarantine. Passengers from red zones will have to undergo 14 days institutional quarantine.
