Assam Rifles conducted various activities across Nagaland

Kohima, March 20 (MexN): Various battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted various activities across Nagaland in the recent past.  

According to a HQ IGAR (N) release, it included construction of two Toilet Blocks in Doyapur village in Dimapur on March 19 by the Dimapur Battalion its Civic Action Programme and handed over to village authorities.

Meanwhile, at Amaluma village, the same Battalion of Assam Rifles facilitated provision of Water Supply Scheme (Borewell) on March 19. 

Assam Rifles facilitated provision of Water Supply Scheme Borewell at Amaluma village, Dimapur, under Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme and handed over to village authorities. The civil authorities extended their gratitude.

In Peren district, the Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles provided assistance for immediate needs like food and clothes to the families impacted by jungle fire at Inbung village under Athibung on March 17. 

Besides the relief measures, the villagers were also adequately briefed about various precautionary measures against such fire incidents which may result in unwanted damage to life and property, the release said. 

The Phek Battalion also provided Blood Donors to “save life of a local anaemia patient” undergoing surgery at District Hospital, Phek on March 18. 

On the request of Chief Medical Officer, District Hospital two volunteer blood donors for O+ve blood group were sent from the battalion to the hospital, the release added.
