Assam Rifles organises 'A Day with Company Commander'

Kohima, March 17 (MExN): The Assam Rifles arranged 'A Day with the Company Commander', where local school students, along with their teaching staff, were invited to learn about the different aspects of its daily operations. Students of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) and Christian Mission Higher Secondary School (CHSS) Phek attended the event in Phek, on March 17.   


A press release from HQ IGAR (N) informed that a total of 140 students (75 boys and 65 girls) as well as 4 teachers from GHSS and CHSS attended the event. The students were welcomed and briefed about the functioning of the Assam Rifles, followed by competitions such as football, volleyball, tug of war, and singing. 

The event also included adventure and fun activities like rock climbing and slithering, negotiating the obstacle course, archery, and bamboo walk.  

The programme instilled a spirit of patriotism and motivated students to harness their energy towards a positive mindset, paving the way for strengthening the bond and harmony between security forces and local people, the release maintained.
