Wokha, April 27 (MExN): ATMA Wokha organised a Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) programme on the topic “Package of practices on Eri Culture” from April 19 to 24 at ATMA Training hall.
According to a press release from ATMA Wokha Deputy Project Director, the training programme was led by T Subenthung Yanthan ,DPD, ATMA Wokha who highlighted on the importance of skill development. He encouraged the aspiring youths to enhance their knowledge through skill training which will further enable them for self sustainability.
Training procedure and briefing of the programme was given by Hukai Zhimomi, DPD, ATMA.
Resource person for the training Extension Officer from Department of Sericulture Edward Humtsoe explained on different topics such as types of silkworm, rearing of silkworm, host plant cultivation and seed production. While there are various types of silkworms, he explained mainly on Eri silkworm since it has been the most dominant culture in the state. A documentary film was also screened during the training programme.
During the valedictory function ATMA Wokha congratulated the trainees on completing the important training and feedback on training was given by the participants. Dory Yanthan, DFO, Department of Fishery distributed the certificates to all the 15 participants who attended the programme.
