Sechü Zubza FC finished the league stage of the inaugural Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League 2026 as champions after defeating Mez & Co 3-1 in their final league match at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, on August 22.
Kevisanyü Peseyie opened the scoring for Sechü Zubza in the fifth minute before adding his second in the 66th minute and completing his hat-trick in the 90th minute.
Mez & Co were reduced to 10 men in the 65th minute after Haokhohen was shown a red card. Vinato scored a consolation goal for Mez & Co in the second minute of stoppage time, but Sechü Zubza held on for the victory.
All five teams completed four matches each in the league stage. Sechü Zubza topped the standings with a perfect 12 points from four wins, scoring 17 goals and conceding four for a +13 goal difference.
Mez & Co finished second with nine points from three wins and one defeat. They scored 13 goals and conceded five for a +8 goal difference.
Vanguard Academy finished third with four points from one win, one draw and two defeats. They scored 11 goals and conceded 13.
Tsütuonuomia Youth Organisation (TYO) also finished on four points but placed fourth on goal difference. TYO scored four goals and conceded nine. Their 2-1 victory over Nurturing Youngsters FC in the final league match secured their place in the semi-finals.
Nurturing Youngsters FC finished fifth without a point after losing all four matches. They scored six goals and conceded 20.
The semi-final line-up has been confirmed, with league champions Sechü Zubza FC facing fourth-placed TYO on August 25 at 6 pm. Second-placed Mez & Co will take on third-placed Vanguard Academy on August 27 at 6 pm.
The winners will meet in the Super Cup final on August 29 at 6 pm.
Earlier, Medoviu Martin Suohu, Councillor, Ward No. 19, Kohima Municipal Council, was the match patron.
The 1st Atuo Mezhür Sekhose Super League 2026 is organised by the Kohima District Football Association (KDFA) under the aegis of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland.
