The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mission Shakti, Tuensang, conducted an awareness programme on the She-Box portal, POSH Act in Tuensang.

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 7 (MExN): District administrations and District Hubs for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) under Mission Shakti organised a series of awareness programmes on women’s safety at the workplace in Mon, Niuland and Tuensang districts as part of the ongoing 10-day special campaign.
In Mon, the awareness-cum-training programme was held at the DC’s conference hall on September 6 with sessions led by retainer lawyer Angun Konyak and panel lawyer Helen P. Helen spoke on the Domestic Violence Act, 2005, and the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act, pointing out that trafficking in Nagaland often takes subtle forms such as exploitation of domestic helpers, false job promises, and cross-border issues. She urged participants to become advocates of the law and use it as a tool of empowerment. Konyak explained the provisions of the POSH Act, 2013, and the She-Box portal, and also highlighted the role of Lok Adalats. Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel M Moba spoke on the effective implementation of poverty alleviation schemes under NALSA.
In Niuland, a session was organised under the Sankalp initiative at the DC’s conference hall on September 6. Resource person Kelengunuo Solo, EAC, spoke on women’s safety and dignity in workplaces, stressing the importance of the POSH Act, 2013, and She-Box portal. She said awareness of rights and resources was essential to empower women to recognise and address workplace harassment, thereby fostering a culture of inclusivity.
In Tuensang, the awareness programme was held on September 7 at the DC’s conference hall, focusing on She-Box and the POSH Act, 2013. Extra Assistant Commissioner and Nodal Officer of the She-Box portal, Toking Yimchunger, delivered the welcome address. Sessions were conducted by Songmao M, District Mission Coordinator of DHEW, and P Herola, Retainer Lawyer of Tuensang District Legal Services Authority, who explained legal safeguards, rights of women employees, and the responsibilities of Internal Complaints Committees (ICC). The programme was chaired by Saotola Chang, Gender Specialist, DHEW, and attended by heads of departments, ICC members, banking representatives, and members of the All Private Schools Association.
