Wokha, February 28 (MExN): The District Administration and DLCW –MSK under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) in collaboration with department of Health and Family Welfare, Sakhi- One Stop Centre organised an awareness programme on Pre Conception and Pre Natal Diagnostic Technique Act (PCPNDT Act) and Pradhan Mantru Vandana Yojana- Maternity Benefit Scheme (PMMVY) on February 28 at Longsachung Village community hall.
According to a DIPR report, Case Worker-Sakhi-One Stop Centre, Thungbeni Kikon highlighted on PCPNDT Act and the activities of the One Stop Centre, while Emilo, Assistant District Co-ordinator PMMVY enlightened the gathering about the benefits of PMMVY scheme.
Dr Thungjamo Jungio, Medcal Officer, Primary Health Centre Nyiro, sensitized the villagers about COVID vaccination and encouraged them to get vaccinated.
Longsachung Village Council Chairman, Yakhasao Ezung thanked the team for visiting and educating the villagers about the benefits of various schemes and policies, the DIPR stated.
This was followed by a free medical camp was also conducted for the villagers. 672 patients were treated for various ailments and free medicines were also distributed to the patients, it added.
