AYUSH Integrated Wellness Camp held at St. John College Dimapur

Dimapur, March 27 (MExN): An AYUSH Integrated Wellness Camp under the National AYUSH Mission, in collaboration with St. John Red Ribbon Club and NSS, was conducted at St. John College, Dimapur on March 24 on the theme ‘Mindful Living.’

The programme aimed to promote awareness on holistic health and well-being among students and participants.

The event was chaired by Achilo Patton, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, while Pastor Toshi of St. John delivered the invocation.

The first session on Health and Wellness was led by Dr. T. Bendangtula, Deputy Director, Ayush, DoH&FW, Nagaland, who spoke on various aspects of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and emphasised the importance of overall well-being. The second session by Dr. Lanusunep, Consultant, SMPB, focused on the significance of various medicinal plants found in Nagaland. He highlighted their traditional uses and importance in promoting natural and sustainable healthcare practices.

 

Following the sessions, a plantation drive was organised by SMPB, Nagaland, during which medicinal plants were planted in the college’s Botanical Garden, promoting environmental awareness and conservation.

The Ayush Health Camp conducted alongside witnessed the participation of eight doctors and 16 paramedics and staff. Students and faculty members of the college availed the services. The camp offered facilities including doctor consultations, blood pressure and haemoglobin level checks, physiotherapy, and panchakarma treatments. Free medicines were also distributed to beneficiaries based on medical prescription.

A wellness exercise session was conducted by international certified fitness coach Norah Changkiri, wherein participants actively took part in physical activities promoting fitness and mindfulness.
