Kohima, March 13 (MExN): Bayavü Area Panchayat (BAP), Kohima conducted a mass social work under the banner ‘say no to plastic’ on March 13.
Under the patronage of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) Nagaland, drainage, roads connecting the highways and paths within the colony area were cleaned, giving priority to cleaning the plastic wastes.
The BAP requested the residents to avoid the use of single use plastic. If unavoidable, proper disposal must be made. It also requested the residents and visitors of the colony not double park vehicles within the area and to keep contact numbers on the dashboard when parked along the colony road.
It further informed that Panchayat will be installing no parking signs along the roads in the colony very soon where residents and visitors are to follow the regulations where defaulters will be imposed with monetary penalties.
