Minister for PHED, Jacob Zhimomi on May 22 launched mask awareness programme at Naga Shopping Arcade, Super Market Area, Dimapur initiated by Better Dimapur in collaboration with Dimapur Municipal Council.
Lauding the initiative, the Minister said that the current pandemic is not an issue to be left to the government alone but calls for every individual to work together while following instructions and directives issued by the authorities. He said the government tried its best to procure the best available medical equipments. Jacob lauded the officers of Dimapur and the district incharge for COVID-19 for working relentlessly during such times.
Dimapur incharge for COVID-19, Y Kikheto Sema, APC and Commissioner & Secretary, Agriculture emphasized on creating more awareness on the disease and also appreciated the civil societies for their support and cooperation attributing success of the district authorities to them.
Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi called for proactive citizen participation in the fight against the pandemic.
Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, Rothihu Tetseo urged the people to follow the three rules of washing hands frequently, wearing masks and to practise social distancing.
Administrator, Dimapur Municipal Council, Albert Ezung expressed appreciation to the senior officers who have been working constantly in the field and appealed the public not to leave it to the government alone to fight the disease.
Minister, Jacob also donated fogging machine to the DMC.
