‘Call all negotiating parties for final inking’: Kitovi urges PM Modi

Dimapur, August 15 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN led by N Kitovi Zhimomi celebrated the 78th Naga Independence Day on August 14 at 5th Mile Chümoukedima.

During the occasion, Ato Kilonser N Kitovi Zhimomi highlighted the present political situation in Nagaland and stressed on the importance of the 1951 May 16 Plebiscite, stated a press release from the MIP GPRN/NSCN.

He also urged the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi “to be a Man of his words and soon call upon all the negotiating parties for the final Inking,” it added. 

The 78th Independence Speech was given by Deputy Ato Kilonser Jungshiwati, who noted that the only way to secure future of younger generations is through peace.

He also echoed sentiment of Ato Kilonser on political talks and urged all Nagas to come and voice out unitedly to Government of India “implement what has been agreed with all the negotiating parties without further delay.”

Jungshiwati also conducted the flag hoisting during the celebration.

As per the press release, the celebration was attended by around 500-600 people comprising of officials, various civil societies’ representatives and well-wishers.

The event also featured welcome address by Kilo Kilonser, HukaviYepthomi while specials songs were presented by Khesheli Achumi (Tatar) and Aiko Club of L Khel, Dipuphar. 

The vote of thanks was proposed by AG Secretary, F Pongba Konyak.
