Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The Council of Baptist Churches in North East India (CBCNEI) on May 15 appealed to its member conventions, associations and churches for a ‘special’ prayer on May 31.
“As a church, we have not been able to come together for corporate worship for the last many Sundays now. In times like this, we want to appeal to our member Conventions, Associations and Churches for special prayer,” CBCNEI Mission Secretary Rev Dr Jolly Rimai said in a press release.
Along with the appeal from the United Christian Prayer for India (UCPI), the CBCNEI appealed to its member churches to come together at noon on May 31, which is Pentecost Sunday.
“We will come together humbling ourselves in repentance, pray and seek His face forsaking our wicked ways and call on Him. We will also Ring the Church Bell at 12 Noon on 31st May to echo the sound of Hope for a better tomorrow.
Please encourage your pastors to expound 2 Chronicles 7:14 during worship on that day so that our prayer will be more meaningful to us as we listen to what the Lord said. May God hear our prayer, forgive our sins and heal our land; our Nation India. May our prayers rise to Him as sweet smelling aroma, an offering acceptable by Him,” the press release added.
