CNC appeals for observance of Naga National Prayer Day on October 19

Dimapur, October 10 (MExN): The Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) has appealed to all Naga churches, organizations, institutions, families, and individuals to observe the Naga National Prayer Day on October 19 under the theme, “O God, Heal Us” (Hosea 6:1–3). The day will be observed every third Sunday of October henceforth.

In an appeal issued by Rev. Seksim Kasar, General Secretary of the CNC, the Council stated that the Naga people stand “at a critical point in our history,” where “our land is groaning under the weight of sin, division, corruption, and moral decay.” It reminded that the forefathers “built this nation upon faith, prayer, and sacrifice — but now the foundations are shaken.”

The CNC stated that unless the people return to God “in humility and repentance, our land will not be healed, but destroyed.” It said that “the first and foremost way to return to God and be healed is prayer,” and therefore made an earnest appeal to all sections to take up “heart-rending prayer for the nation, communities, villages, and your family” on the Naga National Prayer Day.

“We also appeal to you to remember and observe the Naga National Prayer Day, the 3rd Sunday of October every year, as an important occasion so that prayer may bind us together as a people,” the statement said.

Describing this year’s theme, “O God, Heal Us,” as both “a cry and a call,” the CNC urged every Naga “wherever you are — in villages, towns, cities, or abroad — to join your hearts in prayer on this day.” It called upon the people to “rise early to seek His face, humble ourselves before His presence, and turn from every wicked and unrighteous way.”

“For only when we return to God in truth and righteousness will our land be restored and our future secured,” it stated, expressing hope that “the Spirit of God move powerfully among us as we cry out, ‘O God, Heal Us.’”
