Kohima, March 17 (MExN): A review meeting of the Banuo Jamir Committee on Communitisation of Public Institutions & Services Act, 2002 was held with the Chief Secretary of Nagaland, J Alam, IAS on March 17 at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima.
According to a DIPR report, Banuo Jamir stated that extensive study in the field has been conducted with engagement of all stakeholders and departments concerned. The committee has made various observations and flagged areas of concern and made recommendations for the way forward.
She stated that the committee was set up via a Government notification dated July 10, 2020 to study the strength and weaknesses of the Act, to study the existing gap in the functioning of the stakeholder departments in implementation of the Act and to identify areas of concern and to suggest remedial measures for improvement in the delivery of public services and/or omission of services from preview of the Act.
The Chief Secretary hoped that the final report of the committee will help the Government implement the Act successfully and benefit the people of the State.
