Dimapur, December 17(MexN): The Common Working Group review meeting for the conduct of Socio-Economic and Caste Census 2011 in the state was held today at hotel Japhu under the chairmanship of V. Sakhrie, Commissioner & Secretary (RD & SIRD).All the related Departments like Commissioner’s office, Urban Development, UD-MAC, UD-SUDA, RD Department, Directorate of Census Operations, State Institute of Rural Development and SECC Cell and Senior Officils from BSNL and Electronic Cooperation of India Ltd (ECIL) attented.
The working group reviewed all issues pertaining to the implementation of the SECC programme under the Ministry of RD, Government of India which will be launched from January 15,2012 till February 2012 in the state of Nagaland along with the rest of the states in the country. Inorder to be prepared for any eventualities, the working group identifies anticipated problematic areas and also discussed at length as to how best the same can be addressed to when it is launched. all necessary trainings will be completed latest by january 13, 2012 before launching the programme. Since operation of SECC 2011 is mandatory and it is to be completed within the scheduled period i.e. by February 28, 2012, the Commissioner and Secretary (RD & SIRD) urged all the related Departments and Agensiec to extend all support and cooperation and also asked all persons involved to take this challenging job and assignment with all seriousness and sincerity and to ensure that the operation is a successful one which will go a long way in helping in the planning and development process of the state.
He also reminded all concerned to remember respective assignments given to the Departments and Agencies concerned even during the Christmas holidays so that immediately on resuming office on January 2, 2012 they can straight away organize themselves and be ready to start launching the operation as scheduled. Even during christmas Holidays, officers and staff will continue tro funbction in the SECC Cell Kohima by rotation. In this regard necessary publicity relating to guidelines, training programmes etc will be made in the local dailies by the State Government.
