Condolences pour in for Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan

Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): Condolences and tributes have poured in from several individuals and organizations following the demise of Union Minister for Food and Consumer Affairs Ram Vilas Paswan who passed away New Delhi on October 8. 

In a condolence message on Friday, Nagaland Governor RN Ravi said Paswan had dedicated his life to the service of deprived and the downtrodden of India. He stood for the cause of social justice and was voice of the marginalised, Ravi stated.

“In his demise, the country has lost an excellent human being and towering personality. His enormous contributions to the people and the country will be remembered for ever,” Ravi said as he conveyed condolences on behalf of Nagaland. 

In a separate message, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio said Paswan “was not just an enthusiastic leader but a kind hearted person, who was always ready to go the extra mile for the voiceless and downtrodden ones in the society, especially for those from the Dalit community.”

Stating that the late leader will be remembered for his dedicated and sincere service rendered towards the nation, Rio conveyed condolences on behalf of the Government of Nagaland.

The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) Nagaland remembered Paswan as a tall Dalit leader who stood for the downtrodden.
“India has lost one of its finest leader and statesman whose void will be very difficult to filled,” it said while conveying condolences on behalf of the party rank and file. 

LJP President RL Nelson meanwhile extended condolences to Chirag Paswan, MP Lok Sabha and National President Lok Janshakti Party and his bereaved family for the colossal loss and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
